The video conference system in our lab consists of two microphones, which are placed to recognize every spoken word in the room. Also we have a pan-tilt-zoom camera in the corner of our room which also catches the whole room. The camera can also pointed directly on a target with a remote control. Microphones and camera are both connected to our server computer from which we can start and control all video conferences and also can stream them on the big screens.
On the side of the software we try to be as flexible as possible to ensure we can have conferences with all partners independent from their system. That means that we are not focusing on one special videoconferencing software but are able to offer different solutions.
At the moment these solutions include the products Lync and Skype form Microsoft and Hangouts from Google. But we have the goal to test further and maybe less known products in the future.
